Transportation in buildings

May, 2017

Ongoing advances in the modern built environment brought the issue of development of efficient means of transportation in buildings to the forefront. High performance and safe vertical transportation of sufficient capacity has become a pre-requisite for the sustainable development of cities. This necessitates the application of advanced principles and philosophy underlying Lift and Escalator Engineering which in turn demands multidisciplinary research and the integration of techniques involving mathematical modeling and computer simulation, systems engineering, control theory, artificial intelligence and intelligent supervisory systems, systems dynamics, materials and structural analysis. Transportation Systems in Buildings is aimed at providing a forum for disseminating and for the discussion of research covering the latest cutting-edge transportation technologies in buildings and associated areas. The scope of the journal covers a broad range of scientific areas with an emphasis on balancing the fundamental theoretical advances and practical new technologies and techniques.
